Self Defense – Urban Equalizer!
Practical Self Defense is not something you can learn in one class, but it’s not necessarily something you learn in long term martial arts training either, even after training many years in a hard style like Karate. Self Defense is about awareness, and often times is more about submission, suppression, or simply escape, than it is about striking and delivering damage as you would in a system like Karate.
Sensei Vern Vaden is a 6th Dan(6th Degree Black belt) in Shotokan Karate, and has developed a series of techniques and concepts that can be taught to absolute beginners, and with practice and some additional training, can become effective life saving self defense techniques.
Classes are organized for either men or women, and are held on a seminar basis semi-monthly.

Seaside Shotokan’s Vinyasa Yoga class is a rigorous yoga class with strength postures that will have you moving, breathing and sweating. True to its name, this class focuses on building and engaging your core strength. Our Vonyasa Yoga class balances, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind.

Stretch for the Martial Artist
Stretch and Tone, incoporating general stretch excercises and Yoga, along with calasthenics.
WEDNESDAYS 7:00AM to 8:00AM with Jim
A total body workout, Sculpt classes are set to energizing music and designed to tone and sculpt major muscle groups. This class complements your regular yoga or martial arts practice while boosting your metabolism and pushing your strength and flexibility to new heights. Free weights are added to the sequence, creating resistance and intensifying each pose. Strength training exercises such as squats, lunges, bicep and tricep curls are incorporated to build lean muscle mass.
