Yoga and Sculpt
JEFF ROJAS- Jeff’s journey into the art of Yoga began when Sensei Penny Ringwood suggested taking up Yoga in order to improve his mental focus and core strength. In 2008, Jeff completed 200 RYT Yoga teacher training under the renowned teacher Annie Carpenter and began teaching shortly after. Jeff is also certified to teach CorePower Yoga Sculpt class which combines Yoga, weights and cardio to create a challenging and fun class. In addition to practicing Yoga, Jeff is also a longtime Karate student at Seaside Shotokan. Jeff’s goal is to make his classes fun, energetic and inviting to everyone. He celebrates his students’ individuality and approaches teaching with compassion and enthusiasm.
T’ai Chi Ch’uan
PAT AKERS- Pat has been teaching traditional Yang-style T’ai Chi Ch’uan classes since 1990. In addition to private classes, she also teaches in the Emeritus College program at Santa Monica College. She has taken workshops and classes with several teachers including Yang Zhenduo, Chris Luth, Master Dong Zheng Chen, Master Alex Dong and Master Tung Kai Ying. Her primary teacher is Sifu Lana Spraker. Pat’s teaching emphasizes proper body alignment to help students’ correct poor postural habits and maintain or improve balance.
Dance It Out!
NICOLE LA COUR- Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Nicole La Cour began studying ballet at age 3 and has been dancing now for over 30 years. She received her BFA from UCLA, and has toured nationally and internationally performing as a soloist as well as in group ensembles with the UniverSoul Circus, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Jazz Antiqua Dance and Music Ensemble, Ptero Dance Theatre, Praxis Project and ZiRu Productions. Since the birth of her two children in 2008 & 2010, Nicole has continued her training by becoming a certified Pre/Post Natal Dance Instructor thru Dancing thru Pregnancy as well as a certified Dance It Out! Instructor & Master Trainer. She looks forward to sharing her love of dance with you!
ALLISON MARABATE – Allison is from Okemos, Michigan and moved to California 3 years ago. She has always had an interest in health and fitness and decided Los Angeles would be the perfect place to pursue her dream of helping others with their fitness goals. Zumba is Allison’s true passion. She grew up dancing Jazz, Hip-Hop and Ballet and enjoyed choreographing her own routines. That talent has expanded throughout her Zumba career. Allison has been a Certified Zumba Fitness® instructor since 2008, and loves the joy and energy Zumba brings to her and her clients. Allison is a great motivator and will patiently teach you all basic to advanced movements that will make your aerobic experience fun, enjoyable and most of all — productive in meeting your personal fitness goals!
